Bath Time - what's that all about?

Hi all, hope you had a great weekend. The weather here is still brilliant, the human is just hoping it lasts as she has a big family wedding to go to on Friday, we don't mind because we go to stay with her friend Jean for the day - Jean knows how to spoil us rotten!

Unfortunately we have to complain about our humans today, we don't do it often but it has to be said. Why, when we've spent an age in the fields searching out the best smell, usually foxes poo, rolled in it to really get the smell on us, do they insist on then drenching us in water and SHAMPOO to get rid of these delicious smells!
What's this all about!
To add to the humiliation, they put us in a baby bath of all things, it really is not on and we're going to have to do something about it, possibly shake before we get lifted out - we haven't decided, they occasionally use the shower instead which isn't quite so humiliating. We would like to hear how your humans torture you with water, maybe some dogs like it but we just can't understand why anyone would prefer the smell of shampoo to foxes poo - no contest in our opinion! Anyway, Dex had his own back a while ago and ran off with the sponge - they still haven't found where I hid it!
...and you're not having it back!
Enjoy the rest of your day everyone, we'll be busy starting our Operation Bath campaign, any tips welcomed. Dexter & Louis x

Why do they call it shampoo? I've never heard of an animal called Sham that poos? And the stuff sure doesn't smell like some kind of poo.

I always come out of it smelling like "Pina Colada"!! Uuurrcchh!! Face it, the humans just don't "get" our good smells..... just when you achieve acceptable smelly - they whack you in the bath! Then you have to build up your puppy smells all over again. It's tiring. I found you can't fight the bath -the humans are stronger - and they can control us with food. I get liver treats as I sit through the blow-dry - that part I like! Tail Wuggles, Rubie.

Kelly doesn't like her baths either. The baby bath actually looks like a good idea to me (a human). You look so good after your bath!

Humans have too much time on their hands, that's the problem. Let me know where you hid that sponge, Dexter. Is there room for me to square one away there too?

As schnauzers we should not be sujected to such torture. We've spend eons getting our scent just right & then they go & jinx it all up with fiffy smelling shampoo!

Let me know if you find a way out of it.

Baths, well ah, I goes to the goomer once a month and gets clipped and bathed.

Then Mel gives me a bath once a month too! Mel gives me a bath in the kitchen sink! That is not right!

Can you believe I gets a bath 2 times a month? OMD!

woo woos, Tessa

hey Dex and Louis,

Fox poo rules! As does deer poo, coyote poo, etc. etc. :-> Now, if the humans used a shampoo that smelled similar to our favorite poos, then baths would not be as bad.

I have only had a handful of baths since being adopted: one by a groomer, one at a do-it-yourself dog bath place, and two times with the hose in the backyard. I made sure to get my human as wet as me those two times.

D & L, that baby bath has got to go. You pups can only take so much humiliation. ;->

Sometimes I have to get into the giant bathtub, sometimes the kitchen sink, sometimes it is a big old bucket. I am on your side,, go hide the sponge

Leloo doesn't like baths either. Her human mommy can't even say the word without her running. If they do manage to catch her, she takes a shower.
She too doesn't understand the difference between shampoo and poo!

Man don't these humans get we love our STINK? I hate the bath! I crawl under the bed the minute the shampoo bag comes out. Becky just lowers her head - she is much too sweet to even think about not doing what Mom wants.
