Summer Competition Winner!!

Well friends, after a month of beautiful photographs showing you all enjoying your Summer days, we finally have a winner! Thank you all for voting, we had lots of votes and I hope you all agree it was a fair contest. Would you believe there was just ONE vote between 1st and 2nd but I'm happy to report that each and every photo got a ton of votes, they were so close.

Anyway to the winner...who is...

That's that for now then folks, we really enjoyed having this fun contest. We suggested that we might have a barking contest because then a Schnauzer would be bound to win...and come second, third... hee hee. Love to all, Dex and Lou

Photo Competition Final!

Hi all, Dex and Lou's Momster here, I thought I'd hijack the blog and tell you about the judging of the photo competition. Thank you all for making our first competition such fun.

First of all the three judges said it was very, very hard to choose, as every photo had something special about it, however they persevered and although it took them a long time they finally came down to four for you to vote on. They only managed to get it down to nine at one time as each photo was so close, eventually they each chose a favourite and then one from all of them.

This was the table of photo's they were presented with, all printed out for perusal :-)
39 Brilliant photo's - we're going to make a collage from them
I couldn't have picked from them. the judges went with the criteria of a 'Summer Photo' and judged to their own interpretation, I had no influence - I was sent down to the bottom of the garden until they had finished!
A very hard job for the three judges, they loved all of you!
Well, now the hard bit, announcing the four for you to vote on, I almost don't want to post them because I don't want anyone to be disappointed. Here are the four, click to see a larger image:  drumroll....

George on holiday in Anglesey Wales
The judges loved this photo of George and thought the background was a beautiful summer scene, I think his bandana may have helped too ;-)

Daisy Kendra and Bella in Australia
Again, they loved this photo because it showed the three guys having summer holiday fun, furtling along the riverbank and doing what dogs do best.

Monaco on holiday at Lake Garda, Italy
Monaco made all the judges smile with this so summery pose, what a cool guy!

Pip In Northern Ireland
The judges loved the wistful look on Pip's face, as well as the beautiful setting, one of the judges particuarly loved Pips ears!

Well, I hope you are all happy with the judges decision, again I repeat that any one of the entries could have been shortlisted and we are just so grateful for you all joining in the fun.

Instead of a poll on the blog could I trouble you to email your vote to us, within the next week. I know it will probably be a case of stick a pin in the page and vote for that one because they're all brilliant but if it's okay with everyone I'd rather avoid the poll method.

The only problem we have with polls is that if you're not logged in the results are visible, as they are once you have voted. If by some chance one dog got no votes then I would be worrying that they'd be upset!! It will also mean only real Blog friends will take the trouble to vote by email so we avoid unwelcomes that we unfortuately encountered in a previous poll.

Please let us know your favourite by emailing schnauzerdays@yahoo.co.uk - you only need to write the name if you want to, that's fine. I will assume the entrants would like to vote for their own dogs so we'll start off with a vote each! Your emails and your voting choice will be entirely and absolutely confidential - as I say it would be names in a hat if it was me!

Thank you for putting up with my ramblings, back to the boys much more interesting view on life next week, on Wednesday we'll post ALL of the photo entries for Wordless Wednesdays. Thanks again everyone!!!

Don't forget you don't have to have taken part to vote, we'd love you all to have your say!

Helping with the Gardening and Pupsters

Happy Monday Everyone! Dex here, well the time has flown since Friday, we are for once enjoying a very hot spell, well the Peeps are enjoying it but we're sure our walks have got shorter, we've been spending a lot of time lying in the shade.

Louis met a couple of new puppy's when he went training on Saturday, we thought you might like to see them - they are soooo sweet, even though they're not Schnauzers ;-)

Ria, a Springer Spaniel who kept nodding off - she looks so sleepy bless her.
Maddy, a very cute and very mischievous Boxer pupster.
Anyway on Sunday the Popster was doing the garden so I decided to help him. First of all there were a bunch of weeds that needed clearing but they were covered with these little chaps, there were about 30 that we counted so the Momster wouldn't let him touch them. She thinks they are Cinnabar moth caterpillars, moths who fly in the day and are really pretty - so...we have a wildlife reserve area now (or a weed patch that's been left!)
Before...
After...
Louis and I were kept busy barking at the electric monster thingy which roars across the lawn and chops it all down.
Keeping a careful eye on the Lawn Monster...
I went along behind hoovering up everything it dropped, I was threatened with a bath afterwards but I got away with it!
Do you think my green socks are a clue to what I've been up to?
Anyway that's us for now, I've just noticed my head looks really big on that photo, my head isn't really the same size as my body, whatever Louis says! Have a lovely week all, we'll be back later in the week and hopefully Friday will have the 3 final photo's to show you, that's if the judges can reach a decisionDex and Lou xxx

PS The Momster is trying to get around everyone's blogs, she had a cortisone injection in her shoulder (she said she nearly thumped the Dr when he did it!) - typing is fine for five minutes or so so she's doing the Blog Round in stages!
